Progression as a player starts with yourself. Too many players believe that their view on how to play is the only good one, that's rubbish. To become the best player you have to listen to others, see their points of view, hear what they have to say, and then develop a style that works for you from there. I'm not saying at all that you should blindly do what someone else says to do, I'm saying you need to do research to see what others say so you can make the best decision and perhaps find new perspectives.

Solomid.net - This is a great website for League of Legends players to read guides writted by other players and watch tournaments between the best teams in the world. The featured guides on this site are ones written by 2000+ ELO players. They're obviously doing something right that others aren't and it's worth a read.

Here's some of my favorite links from Solomid.net

Perhaps my favorite guide written so far. It's a look at the laning phase from the perspective of the jungler. Read in my early days of LoL it really helped to create a new look at jungling and my own habits in lane.

A nice guide that talks about the laning phase and the responsibilities of individual roles.

Not a whole lot to read here and a bunch of common sense but things worthwhile to think about nonetheless in regards to improving your own ELO.

"basic last hitting" not the best guide ever but since too many player don't understand last hitting I believe everyone should read it.

http://www.solomid.net/guides.php?g=6097
"Support Role Overview" I'm not in love with this guide but it has some nice things to say and is written by a 2000+ ELO player. I also really like the map detailing ward placement.

http://www.solomid.net/guides.php?g=13713
"Nick Dalton's guide to elo progression" Not a great guide again, but if you're bored it talks about solo/duo queue elo progression and has some things to think about.

http://www.solomid.net/guides.php?g=15558
"Laning Mechanics - the correct way to farm" I love this guide and every single player ever should read it. My favorite question to ask dumb pugs in my lane is if they know what zoning is. I Have NEVER had a pug give me the right answer that question. Read the guide, watch the video because I will ask you if you know what zoning is and I expect the right answer.

"leading your team to victory - a guide to LoL leadership" Not a fantastic guide but since I'm going to ask as many people as possible to cycle into the leadership role on a team it's something to think about.

http://www.solomid.net/guides.php?g=13350
"a detailed guide to the support role" I didnt love this guide either, but the second half did have some nice points.

"how to winner" Just read it

http://www.solomid.net/guides.php?g=12314
"massively improve your ELO skillz" a very very good guide that every new and old player needs to read.

http://www.solomid.net/guides.php?g=4844
"item cost efficiency guide" Not vital information but an interesting guide for item consideration.

http://www.solomid.net/guides.php?g=7453
"a detailed overview on general builds and roles" Just a stellar guide, a long but must read.

There, I've done a lot of the hard work for you in terms of at least the general guides, do your work on the champion guides although I intend to go through and annoyingly post a ton of those as well.
